North-South Marathon

COURSE INFORMATION

The Gettysburg North-South Marathon will be a Boston-certified course that starts and ends at the Eisenhower Conference Center. After turning left out of the complex onto Emmitsburg Road and then winds through the hilly back roads of southern Adams County. On the way to a turnaround in the neighboring state of Maryland, the course crosses the Mason-Dixon Line.

The course is a two-loop course, with the first 13.1 miles shared with the Gettysburg Blue-Gray Half Marathon.

Gettysburg North-South MARATHON QUICK FACTS
  • The course is measured according to USATF standards and is certified (PA22010NP) so that results can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
  • You must be at least 14 years of age to take part in the marathon. Anyone who is 14-17 will need to have an adult or guardian sign the registration form on their behalf.
  • The course time limit is six hours
  • The marathon will be held on Sunday, April 28th, 2024 and starts at 8:00 a.m
  • The participant limit is 500 marathon runners
  • Participants have the option of changing to the 1/2 marathon and stopping halfway.
  • If you are 16 or older, you must have your ID to pick up your race number — NO EXCEPTIONS
Entry Fees
  • $95 Before January 1, 2024
  • $110 January 1 – March 29, 2024
  • $125 March 30, 2024 — Race Day
Seeded Runners

Runners who have met the following standards will be considered for complimentary entry into the Gettysburg North-South Marathon:

Women

  • 3:10 or faster within the past two years

Men

  • 2:45 or faster within the past two years

  • Fundraise for the Paralyzed Veterans of America and get a FREE ENTRY!
  • Raise a minimum of $500 to get a FREE entry into the North-South Marathon
  • 100% of the funds go directly to helping severely injured veterans, and their families, have everything they need to live full and productive lives
  • Visit our online registration site for full details and assistance with raising funds
  • Offer is limited to the first 20 entrants
  • Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members – veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction
